END-OF-LIFE SUPPORT
A Home for the Entire Journey
April House approaches end-of-life care with dignity, tenderness and respect for each resident’s wishes. As health needs change, our goal is to help residents remain surrounded by familiar faces, routines and the comforts of home whenever their needs can be safely supported.

As an End-of-Life Doula, Viola provides non-medical emotional, practical and compassionate support to residents and families as they navigate the final chapter of life. April House also works closely with hospice providers, physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals so care remains coordinated and residents can continue to be supported by people who know their routines, preferences and the little things that bring them comfort.

For families, this means having an experienced caregiver and advocate beside you during a time that can otherwise feel overwhelming. We consider it a privilege to care for residents through the final chapter of life and to help make that time as peaceful, meaningful and dignified as possible.
Connected With the People Supporting Each Resident
April House works with families and outside healthcare providers to help keep each resident’s care coordinated as their needs change.
Depending on the resident’s care plan, that may include communication and coordination with doctors, home health providers, hospice teams, pharmacies, and other professionals involved in their care.

INDIVIDUAL FIT
Care Needs Are Reviewed Case by Case
April House considers each prospective resident individually. Diagnosis alone does not determine whether someone is a good fit — the full picture matters, including mobility, medications, daily care needs, safety, and the level of support required.

The admissions process starts with a conversation so Viola can learn more about the resident’s needs and help determine whether April House can safely and appropriately provide the care they need.
